Your account
Free, no sign-up, and lockable with a passcode only you know.
No email, no password on a server, no profile. Names live in your browser's own storage on this device. We never receive them, and we do not sell data to anyone.
This book is locked
Your names are encrypted on this device. Enter your passcode to open them.
Encryption
Set a passcode and your entire book is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to storage. The key is derived from your passcode using PBKDF2 and is never saved anywhere.
There is no reset. We hold nothing, so we cannot recover your passcode or your names if you forget it. Save an encrypted backup before you rely on this.
Removing the passcode decrypts your book and leaves it readable by anyone who can use this device.
What to call you
This name sits in the middle of your diagram. It never leaves the device.
Back up your names
Saving to a file is how you move your book to a new phone, or keep it safe if you clear your browser. If a passcode is set, the backup file is encrypted with it and needs that passcode to restore.
Erase everything
This removes every name saved in this browser, encrypted or not. There is no copy anywhere else, so it cannot be undone.
Plans
Jackdaw Book is free. The site runs on ad revenue placed by Google AdSense, and those ads never see the names you save. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. If a paid ad-free version arrives later, the free version stays free.
